Be sweet and soft.
Pick pretty flowers when you see them, and take them home with you. Put them in your journal, or in a little cup of water at your bedside.
Smile at strangers.
Sing when you have music inside of you, hum as you walk from room to room.
When someone is cruel to you, feel sad for them, instead of angry for yourself. Know that you did not deserve it, and cannot condone it, but have empathy for the suffering they must be experiencing to treat you this way.
Record your thoughts, lines, and poetry in a small pocketbook.
Send little positive wishes out into the universe for everyone you meet.
Experience life like a small child - the natural world is baffling and fantastical and beautiful, so stop every now and then to really look around you.
Be nice to every animal. Even bugs!
Use irritable/anxious days to sit back and reflect on why you’re feeling that way. Be present with yourself, non-judgmental of your own feelings, and use this heightened self-awareness to try and be even nicer to those around you than you would be on a good day.
Sit outside at night, or by your bedroom window, and take some time to look at the stars. Maybe sing them a song, or tell them about your day.
Approach the world with love and empathy, and the world will send it back.
